Nannacay

Marcia Kemp has always had a very strong DNA focused on citizenship with an enormous willingness to help people. It began with a volunteer work at the Instituto da Criança (Children’s Institute), more than 10 years ago and she simultaneously developed projects of corporate citizenship. With a life routine worthy of an executive and businesswoman, she was splitting her time into numerous meetings in Brazil and abroad in a position of extreme responsibility. But Marcia never let the routine affect another great passion: traveling.

No tourist destinations, her preferences were always exotic itineraries that she researched herself, eager to know new cultures, traditions and people. On one of these trips, during a visit to the tribe of the Massai in Africa, the executive had an insight to share the beauty of the unique craftsmanship she admired around the world.

Her greatest inspiration was to raise the flag that the beauty born of simplicity has a space and an appraisal in the fashion universe to be reached. And constantly interested in the culture of the people, she always wondered why some people had a huge competitive advantage and others were born without opportunities, when she saw the beautiful works people made.

Determined to write a different story, she decided to roll up her sleeves and run after her dream! Nannacay® (Nãnãkay) was then born, a name of Quechua Aimara origin, meaning sisterhood. Much more than a brand, this is a new social fashion project; Creative Hands Transforming Lives. Its mission is to help people develop creative potential by serving as a bridge between people who need help and individuals who want to help.

The first line of products that already circulates among fashionistas, is produced by a community of artisans from Peru. They are purses and objects in reed with tribal roots that reflect the country’s colorful and vibrant design and shapes. Handmade and uncluttered, the products are unique, since item is never the same as the other. All the development, color standardization and quality control is coordinated by Marcia, who lends her expertise to the community.

Respecting the concept that each item is full of life and feelings, it also developed colorful tags, which bring on their back the story of the manufacturing and the process of creation, as well as label and tissue paper “creative hands transforming lives.”

As a result of two passions, that of transforming lives and knowing new peoples and cultures, Nannacay® has the potential to produce 300 products in average per quartile, as new artisans, or “creatives”, as she likes to call them, join Nannacay network. All the charm and originality of the project caught the attention of Dona Coisa, Magrella, Via Flores, Gallerist, Shoplixmix, Oqvestir which are already marketing the products. Lenny, Isabela Capeto, Animale and Cecilia Prado, Stephanie Garcia and Gallerist were also enchanted by the brand and have already developed an exclusive line.

When asked about the profile of those who use Nannacay®, Marcia does not hesitate to answer: women who like beauty and admire the simplicity of life.
